The University of Alberta is a leader in reclamation research, and offers master’s and doctoral programs through their Land Reclamation International Graduate School.
As part of the reclamation process, we transplant or seed plant species native to the area. We also manage vegetation by monitoring and controlling weeds, applying pesticides, applying fertilizer, and mowing / maintaining the site after full reclamation is complete. As a licensed industrial pesticide applicator, we offer selective weed control (including handpicking where necessary), weed disposal, and development of weed-control plans for clients.
Plateau’s weed control plans help our clients control their management costs. Regularly-scheduled monitoring of weed species across a specific site ensures that weeds stay under control and no major (and costly) treatments are required.
Plateau Reclamation works under pesticide service registration number 240485-00-00.
